There are some fantastic villages around Pattaya although one criticism that we often hear is that the communities “lack character”. In some cases we can agree, we would always argue too that there are many villages in and around the city that offer something different and aren’t the same as all the rest. Obviously, most villages are in East Pattaya, but in reality, there are some excellent options available to the north in Banglamung as well as to the south in Bang Saray. So, if you are looking for a village with bags of character, you could think about these options.
North East Pattaya
The north of Pattaya especially around Highway 36 and into Banglamung has become increasingly popular in recent years. For example, there is Sea Breeze Villas which is a seafront village and offers something unique. The modern-style houses all overlook the sea, and the villas are in a quiet location.
Another option in the area is the Grand Regent, which as the name would suggest, has a close affiliation with the Regents School. Obviously, this is beneficial for those that have children studying at the school. Ruen Pisa, on Soi Chiayapornwithi, is an older village in the northeast of Pattaya but has plenty of character with wide open roads and a generally open feel.
Downtown Pattaya and Pratamnak
Pattaya and Pratamnak are more closely associated with condos than villages. Still, in Central Pattaya, you will find the upmarket Baan Natcha, which is a superb collection of Thai Bali style houses in a surprisingly quiet but convenient location. For beach lovers, Majestic Residence in Pratamnak has direct beachfront access with luxury homes appealing to the more discerning clients.
East Pattaya
In East Pattaya, the choice is almost endless, but some of the notable villages that offer something different include Whispering Palms which is connected to Horseshoe Point giving easy access to all the activities that they have available. Siam Royal View is in a prime location at the top of Soi Khao Talo offering stunning views across Pattaya and Jomtien. The houses are all individually built but must conform to strict guidelines offering character while also offering a certain degree of uniformity.
Further to the south on Soi Chiayapruek 2, there is Silk Road. All the properties here are in a Mediterranean style, and the village also manages to capture the same feeling.
Jomtien and Na Jomtien
In Jomtien, you will find the extremely modern-style Palm Oasis village. It is a particularly popular village with those on holiday in the city, and it is easy to appreciate why. Baan Dusit Pattaya Park is another option although located further out of town in Na Jomtien. The village has a vast swimming pool area including slides which will appeal to the younger generations.
View Talay Marina and Jomtien Yacht Club both have boat mooring options which make them stand out and, of course, give them a great deal of character. These are more upmarket options and are superb properties in every respect.
