Golf is one of Pattaya leading selling points, especially during the low season attracting players of all standards from around the world. While we have some outstanding championship courses in the area, we also have some others that are far cheaper and still of an excellent standard. Below we have selected seven courses that you can play during the week for less than 2,000 Thai Baht a round, with these prices also being available at weekends on some courses during the low season.
Within 45 Minutes of Pattaya
Plutaluang Navy Course
Plutaluang is a popular golf course, especially with higher handicappers with caddies not being compulsory which some find appealing. It is a well-established course that has been open for more than 50 years. It can be found on Route 332 to the south of Pattaya, very close to the Sattahip Naval Base.
Pattaya Country Club
Pattaya County Club is located to the east of Pattaya on Route 331, making it one of the most accessible courses in the area. The course has undergone a great deal of change in recent years and has significantly improved with the clubhouse now looking very impressive from the outside although lacking in facilities.
Greenwood Golf Club
Greenwood Gold Club was looking very run down around five years ago but has improved significantly in more recent years. It can be found nestled amongst the hills around Chonburi and is another extremely well-established course. The emphasis on this course is on skill rather than power and can be quite challenging for higher handicappers.
Parichat International Golf Links
Parichat is one of the more recent editions to Pattaya golf scene having opened in 2015. It is one of the shortest courses in the area, and the green fees are excellent value, but the fact that carts are compulsory can put many people off. The course can be found close to Pattaya Country Club on Route 331.
Ban Chang Courses
Emerald Golf Club
Emerald is a picturesque golf course located close to the town of Ban Chang, the popular golfer’s stop off after a round. It is one of the most popular courses in the area and is undoubtedly quite tough but regarded as a fair course. The course opens at 6am, which appeals to early-bird golfers who prefer to avoid the mid-day sun.
Green Valley Rayong
Green Valley is one of the three courses that can be found at St. Andrews, Rayong. It is a mid-price course but often has offers available. The course was redesigned a few years ago, but the shared clubhouse is still some way behind the excellent clubhouses that are available at many of the other courses in the region.
Eastern Star, Rayong
The Eastern Star golf course is located close to Emerald and is a well-maintained course although to a slightly lower standard than others on the list. However, it is still an enjoyable course and one that proves to be continually popular, probably in no small part due to its proximity to Ban Chang.
