Pattaya has a vast selection of superb restaurants that cater for all tastes and budgets. From time to time, we all like to spoil ourselves with a special meal and enjoy that fine dining experience. Fortunately, in Pattaya, we have some excellent options throughout the city. It this article we have tried to focus more on the independent restaurants rather than those in the hotels, which are, naturally, absolutely superb. Here are five of our favourites.
Wongamat
Ronin, Japanese Restaurant
Ronin is an upmarket Japanese restaurant that can be found on Naklua soi 16/2. They have a resident Japanese chef who prepares authentic Japanese cuisine using the highest quality ingredients. The presentation is quite simply superb, and the service is typically Japanese; efficient, knowledgeable and polite. The Japanese inspired gardens complement the ambience in this hidden gem. It is advisable to book first as it is relatively small and always busy. The dress code again is smart casual.
South Pattaya
Café des Amis
Café des Amis consistently ranks top of the rankings when it comes to fine dining options in Pattaya since it opened more than a decade ago. It can be found at the bottom of Thappraya Soi 9 and offers the complete dining experience which, as the name would suggest, is French-inspired. As you would imagine with a fining dining restaurant, they use only the finest cuts of meat as well as offering lobster and foie gras. Everything is freshly prepared and of the best quality with excellent presentation and superb service. The dress code is smart casual.
Casa Pascal
Casa Pascal is another of the well established fine dining restaurants in Pattaya. It is at the southern end of Pattaya 2nd Road and offers a more relaxed dining experience but one that certainly doesn’t compromise on the quality of the food. Again they like to offer something a little different with goose now forming part of their menu. Although the food is mainly European, a range of Asian cuisines are also available, expertly prepared by their skilled chefs. As you would imagine, they only use the finest of ingredients.
Unlike the other restaurants, Casa Pascal is open for breakfast, and the dress code is casual. Booking in advance for lunchtime and dinner is recommended.
Jomtien
Indian by Nature
There are some excellent Indian restaurants in Pattaya, but only Indian by Nature can genuinely claim to be a fine dining experience. They have an extensive menu that is prepared using the finest ingredients, which are all fresh. The ambience is more upmarket than many similar restaurants, and they have an excellent wine list. All the staff is well trained, knowledgeable and polite, which helps to make the whole experience more enjoyable. The restaurant can be found on Thappraya Road in the Chateau Dale complex.
Moonlight
Moonlight is located in View Talay 7 and is an upmarket fine dining experience. They specialise in steaks, seafood, and pasta, all of which are skillfully prepared using the best ingredients available. Scallops, foie gras, lobster and even caviar all feature on the menu to give you an indication about what you can expect. Their lamb and beef are all imported and is incredibly succulent and packed with taste. It is a relatively small venue which adds to the relaxed and personal atmosphere but booking in advance is undoubtedly recommended.
