Many expats who come to Pattaya, come with their families and demand the best education for their children. One of the main attractions with Pattaya is the fact that there are several very high standard international schools in Pattaya and the surrounding area. Prices vary a great deal at international schools as does the quality of the teaching, so we have highlighted the five best in the area.

Within Pattaya

The International School of The Regent’s

The Regent’s school is located on the 36 Highway close to the junction with 7 Highway. It is probably the best of the international schools and favoured by many of the multi-national companies in the region. The vast majority of the teachers are British, and the school teaches the English curriculum making it the obvious choice for Brits coming to the area. All nationalities are welcome although they do require a minimum standard of English to be spoken. It is both a boarding and non-boarding school and is highly acclaimed for its extracurricular activities available.

Rugby International School

Rugby International is the most recent of the excellent international schools to open in Pattaya. The school has close ties with the 450-year-old private English school bearing the same name. The large campus is situated relatively close to Siam Country Club and is nestled amongst rolling hills and lush countryside. The school has a very proud reputation for academic achievement while also recognising the role that pastoral and extracurricular activities play in a child’s and young adult’s development. The school has boarding facilities and welcomes students from pre-school to upper-sixth form.

Tara Pattana International School

Tara Pattana School is situated in East Pattaya and again teaches the English curriculum. Many of the teachers are British, which helps a child’s learning with students from pre-school age until Year 13 all welcome. The school has a good record in terms of academic achievement and offers some out of school activities. Children of all nationalities can attend.

Rayong Province

St Andrews International School, Green Valley

There are two St Andrews Schools in Thailand, one in Bangkok and one at Green Valley Rayong. In a similar manner to both The Regent’s and Rugby, the school has predominantly British teachers teaching the English National Curriculum. The school welcomes children from 2 years of age to 18 and has a proven track record for academic success. Once again, the school offers extensive out of school activities, and all pupils are actively encouraged to take part. This school is arguably in the best setting of all the international schools in the area.

Laem Chabang

International School Eastern Seaboard (ISE)

The ISE can be found close to the Burapha Golf Club, not far from Laem Chabang. ISE is the only school on our list that teaches the US curriculum and is, therefore, an America school in almost every sense. Children from pre-school to Grade 12 and of every nationality are welcomed but must pass the entrance exams which are quite challenging. Extracurricular activities are promoted to all children.
