One of the most frequently asked questions we get asked in our office is, “where can I get a bargain condo to renovate?” We fully appreciate that everyone is looking for a bargain, but as demand is so high for these properties, you need to be quick off the mark to capture one. Although all buildings have units that may be suitable for renovation, many older ones naturally have more that fit into that category. We are aware that we have missed several options off our list, but as you will understand, we can’t include all of them, so here are some options you could look for.
View Talays 1 & 2
The View Talay buildings have always been popular in Pattaya, in many ways because you know what you are going to get. The original buildings, View Talay 1 and the neighboring View Talay 2 are on Thappraya Road close to the Thepprasit Road junction. The units are significantly larger than in most modern buildings which offer a natural appeal. For anyone with experience renovating properties, the basic shells, which is essentially what the building is, could be a dream come true!
Diana Estate
The Diana Estate on Soi Buakhao was one of the first condos built in this prestigious location. The property is in the region of 25 years old, so some units are undoubtedly in need of a revamp. The prices in this building are far more reasonable than you would expect, considering its positioning. With excellent communal facilities and all the amenities that you would require close by, it is undoubtedly a building that you should look out for if you are hoping to grab a bargain.
Nirun Condo
Nirun Condo is located in Central Pattaya and is now over 25 years old. Many of the units have already been refurbished, but you can still bag a bargain for well under THB1 million. The location of this condo is probably its most attractive feature, and with lots of amenities such as laundries, massages, food marts, and restaurants in the complex, it is ideal for those who don’t like to wander too far from home.
Jomtien Complex
For those who enjoy life in Jomtien, Jomtien Complex on Thappraya Road, about 100 meters from the beach, is perfect. It is a more upmarket option than some others on our list and has excellent communal facilities. Most units have been renovated in recent years, but there are still a few gems that crop up from time to time. For your money, you will get a larger unit in a prime location, but you can expect to pay more than in the View Talay’s, Park Lane, or Nirun Condo.
Sky Beach, Park Beach, Silver Beach
The Wongamat area is one of the most popular districts of Pattaya with both ex-pats and tourists, and several older buildings have potential options that can be renovated. However, if you want something in a prize location, the sister condos of Sky, Park, and Silver Beach are arguably the best
