If you are a golf enthusiast, then Pattaya will be a dream come true! There are well over 20 championship standard golf courses within an hour’s drive of Pattaya. Some of the courses target beginners with prices to reflect this, others for lower handicappers and some that cater to reasonable club players. If you are looking to play some of the top courses in the area, here are seven of our suggestions.

1. Siam Country Club – Old Course

The Old Course at Siam Country Club is arguably the best golf course in Thailand and each year hosts the LPGA Women’s Open. The course is kept in immaculate condition throughout the year. Non-members cannot book a tee time so we would recommend either playing with an existing member or joining one of the many local golf societies in the city.

2. Laem Chabang International Country Club

Laem Chabang International Country Club is often one of the first courses that get a mention when talking about golf courses in Pattaya. The club has three different courses, Mountain, Lake and Valley so you can add a bit of variation into your round. The courses are all kept in superb condition, and green fees are considerably cheaper than at Siam Country Club. If you are only visiting Pattaya for a short period, Laem Chabang should be on your “to-do” list.

3. Siam Country Club – Plantation Course

The second of four courses at Siam Country Club is the Plantation Course. Although not quite to the standard of The Old Course, it is still an absolute treat to play. The scenery is fantastic, and you will have a very relaxing and enjoyable round regardless of your scores. Once again, it is only possible to play with a member of a golf society.

4. Chee Chan Golf Resort

The Chee Chan is one of the newest arrivals on the Pattaya golf scene and is located close to the Silverlake Vineyard. It offers magnificent views with the huge Buddha carving in a rock overlooking many of the holes. On some holes, you will also be able to look back towards Pattaya and Jomtien. Quite rightly, the course has quickly established itself as one of the most popular in the area.

5. Phoenix Gold

Phoenix Gold is one of the most popular courses; perhaps due to its proximity to Pattaya. This course represents excellent value for money during the low-season only just manages to squeeze into the over 2,000 Thai baht category. It is well established and has mature fairways and rough, which can add to the experience. The vast clubhouse is one of the best around too!

6. Pattana Golf Club and Resort

Pattana is another of the 27-hole courses in the area which adds plenty of variation. The course has plenty of water which can be frustrating for golfers with a higher handicap. It probably a better option for more accomplished golfers but the course is still in excellent condition and represents good value for money.

7. Green Valley Rayong – St. Andrews Course

There are three courses at Green Valley, although St. Andrews is the most superior of the three. The greens, fairways and rough are all exceptionally well maintained and the prices are comparable with Phoenix Gold. The course is near to the popular “19th Hole” of Bang Chang, a popular drinking town after you have completed your round.
