There are some superb bars in Jomtien, and for this list, we have tried to focus on the more outdoor bars while recognising that there are some excellent pubs in the area. There are bars catering for all tastes with very much a “live and let live” attitude being prevalent. Many of the bars are well priced especially at happy hour and have friendly and helpful ladies, ladyboys, and guys all there to make your visit more pleasant.
1. D.I.B. Sky Bar Pattaya
Although we have tried to stick to just your stereotypical bars in this list, it would be impossible not to include D.I.B. Sky Bar which is located o the 38th floor of the D Varee Hotel. Naturally, from its position, it offers stunning views across the Gulf of Thailand. It is something that is not matched anywhere else in Jomtien, and while the drinks are a little more expensive, as you would imagine, they still offer great value for money. It is a popular venue for couples, expats, and hi-so Thais.
2. Cocktails Bar
The Cocktails Bar is located at the southern end of Jomtien Beach Road and is a bar, as the name would suggest, that specialises in cocktails, but beers and other drinks are available. In the evenings, tide permitting, they put tables and chairs on the beach. It is a very friendly bar that is popular with expats, tourists and locals and is excellently priced.
3. Aussie Bar
The Aussie Bar is one of several excellent bars at Rompho Market but is perhaps the best known due to its location. It is a fantastic meeting point and is an excellent place to watch sport, particularly Australian sports. It does target Australians, but everyone is made to feel welcome. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the beers are always cold!
4. Cheers Bar
Talking of cold beers, Cheers Bar in Jomtien Soi 7 does, of course, deserves a mention as it claims to offer the “coldest beer in Jomtien”. It is a bar that remains popular regardless of the time of year and has a regular clientele base made up of all different nationalities. The girls are well known for their friendly and accommodating nature, and the whole bar has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
5. Country Road Bar
If you enjoy people watching, then Country Road Bar is the joint for you! It is located at the northern end of Jomtien Beach Road as is popular throughout the day serving a selection of both Thai and western food. It is an excellent meeting point and is ideal for those coming from Pattaya or further to the south as it is directly on a baht bus route.
6. Popcorn Bar
Located on Jomtien Soi 7, is a basic but friendly bar that has a loyal customer base. Everyone is made to feel welcome, and the atmosphere is very laid back with groups always welcome. You can sit out the front and watch the world go by or sit inside where it is a little cooler. It operates at a very slow pace, but to many, this is its appeal.
7. Deano’s Sport’s Bar
Located in Soi Whitehouse Deano’s Sport’s Bar is well, a sports bar! It has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with pool tables, darts, and draft beers available. It is an alternative to perhaps some of the better-known sports bars in the area which are maybe more focused on food.
