Pattaya – A True City of Variety

You would be hard pushed to find a city anywhere in the world to match the diversity and breadth of attractions that exists right here in Pattaya. The offer is as cosmopolitan and vibrant as it is charming, tropical and traditional.

Such is the number of attractions offered it is difficult to know where to begin. Without question many of you whom have enjoyed Pattaya for many years will spot a thing we have missed, that really cannot be helped and that only epitomizes just how many things there are to do here.

If you were to take a broad brush under the heading of attractions, this article would become a book, and a very large book at that. Sanctuary of Truth

The Sanctuary of Truth is a gigantic wooden, lovingly hand carved construction that covers over 2 rai. It stands 105 metres high. It’s a stunning creation. Located in North Pattaya in Naklua.

Thai Floating Market

This is proving popular not only with tourists but with expats whom enjoy a trip to this beautiful location to eat a tasty Thai dish with their partner or family in one of the traditional food stalls here. Very authentic with a wide range of shops offering good value souvenirs and things to see.

Nong Nooch Botanical Gardens

These gardens will have you in awe; they are as beautiful as they are vast. Officially the second best gardens in the world, this is a must see for everyone. Not only boasting stunning gardens but a Thai Cultural show, Elephant Show and Zoo.

Sriracha Tiger Zoo

Although strictly speaking not in Pattaya, given the close proximity it certainly warrants a mention. With Tiger shows, Pig racing and performers putting their heads in crocodiles mouths; it’s certainly a new experience for the most of us. Located some 30 minutes from Pattaya, just get on the 7 highway and its clearly signposted. 450 baht entrance for foreigner and 150 baht for Thai Residents (this includes expats if you bring with you proof)

Dolphin Show

Sure to keep both kids and adult enthralled, as these trained dolphins put on a show to be remembered. Located on Sukhumvit road in the direction of Na Jomtien, its clearly sign posted. The show lasts about 1 hour and it is 500 baht for foreigners and 199 baht for Thais. Foreigners can pay same at Thai if can prove a resident (e.g. driving licence or work permit).

Ripleys Believe it or Not

This is a diverse entertainment complex with a host of attractions from Haunted House, Scream in the Dark, Infinity Maze, Louis Tussards Wax Museaum to their world famous museum of the strange and wonderful. A really fun day out whether you are single, a couple or have a family. Located in the Royal Garden Plasa shopping centre.

The Million Years Stone Park & Crocodile Farm

It is not only a living museum of curious and beautiful things of all the three kingdoms-animal, vegetable and mineral, but it also offers you several kinds of amusing and exciting shows. The stand out attraction here is in feeding the crocodiles on fishing rod type instruments with chicken meat as bait. 15 minute drive from Pattaya Centre in East Pattaya.

Mini Siam

If you are a fan of Gullivers travels then you will love Mini Siam. Feel like a giant as you discover miniature cities and landmarks from across the world from the Eiffel tower in Paris to the Statue of Liberty in New York. Located on the Sukhumvit road opposite the Bangkok hospital.

Tiffanys Show or Alcazar Ladyboy Show

A visual spectacular waits at either one of these shows. It is big on glamour, make up and high heels. It is about as synonymous with Thailand as you can get.

Tuxedo Magic Show

This makes the list for two reasons. Firstly, it’s a show you wouldn’t expect to find in Thailand and so illustrates the range of attractions on offer in Pattaya. The Second reason is quite simple, because it’s a great show and very entertaining. Located on Pattaya North, shows start from 7pm each night.
